Walt Disney World has released a new promotion that covers travel dates in 2009 and 2010. The buy 4 get 3 free promotion that was popular during much of 2009 has made a return, with a slight variation:

• Buy 4 get 3 free: Purchase a 7 night, 7 day vacation at a Disney moderate, deluxe or deluxe villa resort, and receive 3 nights and 3 days free. A savings of up to 45%.
• Buy 5 get 2 free: Purchase a 7 night, 7 day vacation at a Disney value resort, and receive 2 nights and 2 days free. A savings of up to 30%.

Stays can be longer than 7 nights, though you will only receive the number of night indicated above free (2 or 3, depending on resort category). Stays can be shorter than 7 nights as well, though your savings will be reduced drastically as you are leaving free nights on the table.

You may add any of the Disney Dining plans to this package (Quick Service, Disney Dining or the Deluxe Dining), though the dining plan is full price, not discounted as part of the package. This discount cannot be used with the Premium of Platinum plans.

You must book this package by December 20, 2009.

Walt Disney World has released special room only discounts for the general public. You must check in during the travel dates, however, you can extend your stay pass the ending date. Only the nights included in the travel dates listed above will be discounts, including the night of December 24, 2009. Availability is limited, though all resorts and room types are available. One thing to note is that the travel dates cover four pricing seasons (value, regular, Thanksgiving and Holiday), so nightly prices may vary during your stay. Each night is priced individually, so your price may vary nightly if your dates cover two or more seasons.

For most people, the current Disney Free Dining promotion will be a better deal for you, with the following exceptions:

Walt Disney World has announced an extension of the the “Free Dining” promotion for 2009. With the “Free Dining” promotion, Disney resort guests who book a Magic Your Way package that includes both your Disney resort room and your Magic Your Way park passes, will receive one of the Disney Dining plan add-ons for free for all guest three and older in their party. There are a few requirements:

• You must book at least a three night stay, and your stay cannot be longer than 10 nights
• You must include at least a one day Magic Your Way base ticket

There is one small change with this promotion, from past free dining offers.

• Book a three night stay at at Disney Value resort, and receive the Quick Service dining plan included for free with your stay.
• Book a three night or longer stay at a Disney Moderate, Deluxe or Villa resort, and receive the Disney Dining plan included for free with your stay.

As it was in the past, this year Disney World guests will also be able to book the “Free Dining”, and upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference, which is $32 for adults and $10 for children three to nine. Guests staying at one of the Disney Value resorts may upgrade to the Disney Dining plan by paying the difference, which is $10 for adults and $2 for children three to nine, or the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference of $42 for adults and $12 for children age three through nine. These upgrade prices are the nightly increase, and you must pay for each night of your stay to upgrade. The Wine and Dine option is also available at full price to add onto either the Basic or Deluxe dining plans.

Availability is extremely limited, and must be booked by September 26, 2009. It appears that all suites have been excluded from this offer, though all resorts, including value resorts are included.

One thing to note that while the last date of travel is December 17, though if your vacation extends past that date, the free dining add-on will be included for your entire stay. The only requirement is that you must check in December 17 or before. As usual, this is subject to availability.

Park passes and dining plans included in the Magic Your Way packages are not discounted. Availability is extremely limited for many dates. Disney is also offering the free Disney Dining during many of these dates as well. Under most circumstances, the free dining will be better for you, unless you are staying at a deluxe resort, then it may be worth comparing the two.

Travel Dates: June 7 – August 8, 2009

Walt Disney World has released a new Magic Your Way package discount for the travel dates listed above. You must check in during the travel dates listed above to receive the discount, and it appears as though as long as you check in during the travel dates, you will receive the discount for your entire stay.

The discounts of this package will correspond with the room only discounts released for the same travel dates. The Magic Your Way package allows you to add park passes and the Disney Dining Plans to your reservation. Availability is extremely limited, and you must book this package by June 6, 2009.

One thing to note is that Disney World is also including a special “club level” discount, available only at resorts with concierge rooms, so Coronado Springs, Animal Kingdom Villas (Jambo) and the deluxe resorts. Historically, concierge rooms are rarely discounted. The discount seems to be substantial as well, over $200 per night at the deluxe resorts I checked. In fact, many of the concierge rooms will be very close in price to the non-concierge rooms in price. Typically the upgrade to concierge runs about $100 per night, with this discount, it appears to be closer to $40 per night. If you have ever wanted to stay in concierge, but couldn’t afford it, this is your opportunity.

There are a few requirements:

• You must book at least a three night stay, and your stay cannot be longer than 10 nights
• You must include at least a one day Magic Your Way base ticket

As it was in 2008, this year Disney World guests will also be able to book the “Free Dining”, and upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference, which is $32 for adults and $10 for children age three to nine. The Wine and Dine option is also available at full price to add onto either the Basic or Deluxe dining plans.
