Description: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground features log cabin homes, RV sites and tent areas. Located in a remote area of WDW, staying here is almost like camping out in the wilderness. This is Disney’s biggst resort in terms of size, and covers over 700 acres.

Amenities: The resort features two swimming pools, a white-sand beach, horseback riding and many night time activities from fireside storytelling to Disney movies shown outdoors.

Rooms: Wilderness Cabins are approximately 500 Square Feet, and consist of a one bedroom log cabin. The bedroom contains one double size bed and a set of bunk beds. The family room featrues a fold out double size bed. All cabins also feature a full size kitchen with microwave and dishwasher and a television. There is also a picnic table outside each cabin. There are also some older “Wilderness Homes” that are the same size, and have the same features, but are more like mobile homes that log cabins.

Transportation: Fort Wilderness is somewhat isolated, and everything must be accessed by bus. Bus service is available to the Ticket and Transportation Center, the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom Park and Downtown Disney directly from the resort.There is seasonal boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom.There are also busses that just run internally at Fort Wilderness.

Cost: Wilderness Cabins start at $224 during value season up to $314 during the Holidays. Full hookup sites start at $39 during value season up to $76 during the Holidays. Partial hookup sites start at $34 during value season up to $35 during the Holidays.

Description: Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside feature Southern style mansions and bayou accommodations lining a winding waterway. Featuring large stands of trees and a wonderful swimming hole, you will believe your staying in the bayou.

Amenities: The resort features wonderful main pool (the swimming hole) with waterslide, watercraft and bicycle rentals and children’s play area.

Rooms: Standard rooms are approximately 314 Square Feet, and feature either a King or two Queen size beds, a small desk and sitting area. Rooms feature either a garden or water view. Some rooms feature two Queen size beds and a trundle bed, sleeping 5.

Transportation: The Port Orleans Riverside Resort is secluded, it seems like you are miles from anything, yet just across the street from EPCOT. Bus service is available to the Ticket and Transportation Center, the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom Park and Downtown Disney directly from the resort.

Description: Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter is styled after the romantic New Orleans, including the down home hospitality. Daily mini-Mardi Gras are featured, as well as a pool featuring a slide on a serpent’s tongue.

Amenities: The resort features wonderful main pool with waterslide and giant serpent, watercraft and bicycle rentals and children’s play area.

Description: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resorts features six brightly colored “island villages” with the ambiance of the tropics. Each village has its own heated quiet pool plus a white-sand beach on the shores of a shimmering lake. All of the great feelings of being in the Caribbean come back to life at this resort.

Amenities: The resort features a white sand beach, newly refurbished main pool with waterslide, watercraft and bicycle rentals.

Rooms: Standard rooms are approximately 340 Square Feet, and feature either a King or two Queen size beds, a small desk and sitting area. Rooms feature either a garden or water view. In 2009, Disney will introduced Pirate themed rooms in a section of Caribbean Beach, themed after Pirates of the Caribbean.

Transportation: The Caribbean Beach Resort is close to both EPCOT and Disney-MGM Studios, but both must be accessed by bus. Description: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resorts is themed to regions of Mexico and the American Southwest. Set around a lake, it features a Mayan pyramid in the center of a fun pool area. This is the moderate convention resort, and is often filled with business people rather than families visiting Walt Disney World.

Amenities: The resort features wonderful main pool with waterslide and waterfall, watercraft and bicycle rentals, a health club and a huge children’s play area.

Rooms: Standard rooms are approximately 314 Square Feet, and feature either a King or two Queen size beds, a small desk and sitting area. Rooms feature either a garden or water view. Coronado Springs also offers very nice suites, the only suites available at a moderate resort.

Transportation: The Coronado Springs Resort is close to Disney-MGM Studios, but must be accessed by bus. Bus service is available to the Ticket and Transportation Center, the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom Park and Downtown Disney directly from the resort.

Walt Disney World moderate resorts are the Disney luxury resort at a moderate price. Great theming, nice pools and wonderful landscaping are available at these resorts.

Caribbean Beach Resort is like staying in a beach-front cottage on a small Caribbean island. Individual “islands” surround a quiet lake, and feature their own quite pools.

Coronado Springs Resort is Disney’s moderate convention resort, featuring a giant Mayan pyramid in the center of the pool.

Port Orleans French Quarter reminds one of staying in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, only a Disneyesque G-rated Mardis Gras. Great pool for kids who love dragons.

Port Orleans Riverside was recently known as Dixie Landings, but has been joined with Port Orleans French Quarter. Wonderful Southern mansions and bayou buildings in a beautiful setting.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness offers both one room Wilderness Cabins as well as partial and full hookups for RVs, trailers and even tents.
