Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie – Quick Service Hidden Treasure

Quick service dining is my dining plan of choice while visiting Disney World. Having gone to Disney World so many times and so often now, I just want to explore and not worry about planning meals and keeping to a set itinerary. I just like to eat if and when I feel like it, when and where I choose to. This type of touring has opened up a whole new world (queue in Aladdin soundtrack) for me in regards to what I eat at Walt Disney World.

While there are plenty of great quick service restaurants at Disney World, especially at Epcot, I have found what I believe to be the greatest hidden treasure of quick service locations. It is relatively new, only added to Epcot in 2013, born out of the ashes of the tiny and always crowded Boulangerie Patisserie that had been located in the France Pavilion forever.  If you didn’t know it was there, you would completely miss it.

My new favorite is the Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie (or the Les Halles Bakery for the non-francophile out there), located in the back of the France pavilion in Epcot’s World showcase. No! I am not eating cupcakes for dinner (not that there is anything wrong with that). They have the most amazing hot sandwiches and flatbreads and the most “oh la la” desserts that are just heavenly. I am also a huge fan of the portion size which always leaves you satisfied, but never stuffed. While the seating isn’t the greatest, it is a vast improvement over the old boulangerie, plus it is quiet and cool, and it’s never really that crowded either.

Not only do they offer fantastic quick service meals, but this is THE PLACE to use your dining plan snack credits. While you see some poor sap walking around with their box of stale popcorn, you know you are on your way to France for a genuine, delectable patisserie. Bon Appétit!

Next time you are in Epcot, save that Quick Service meal, throw on a beret and head to France!
