One of the most recent announcements made by Walt Disney World that will come into effect quite a bit quicker than the rides and attractions coming in the next few years is the Minnie Private Car Service. Think of this as Disney’s entry into the ride sharing field, with a twist. These are Disney owned vehicles though, driven by Disney employees. Currently at Disney World, if you want to get somewhere on property, you have to wait for a bus/monorail/boat to take you there, or you can call a cab or Uber. With the new Minnie Private Car service, you get a sweet minivan (get it?) that will take your group anywhere they want to go.
Starting later this month, guests at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts will be able to arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from their smartphone. Additional resorts and locations will be added in the coming months. It’ll be simple to do. Just arrange a Minnie vehicle and a Disney cast member will arrive and drive you anywhere you wish at the Resort in a magical way that only Disney can do. Rides can be arranged directly from the My Disney Experience app, and rumors are saying that you will also be able to make a reservation via the Lyft app as well (time will tell).
Update August 15, 2017: Walt Disney World has added three new resorts to the Minnie Private Car Service, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
While no official pricing as been announced, the cost of the transfer service is estimated to be $20 per ride, regardless of the Disney destination or the number of people.
