2021 Walt Disney World Packages are no available to book!

UPDATE: October 15, 2020 – Walt Disney World has opened up bookings for September 28 – December 31, 2020, so now all of 2020 is available to book.
Given the current situation in 2020, not all resorts are currently available to book for 2021.

Excluded Resorts
You may notice that several resorts are excluded from the lists above. The following resorts are currently not available to book for 2021 stays.
- Disney’s All-Star Sports
- Disney’s All-Star Music
- Disney’s All-Star Movies
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Walt Disney World has yet to announce opening dates for these resorts, so it is natural that they have not opened 2021 bookings for these resorts yet, as there is a possibility they may not be open until sometime in 2021.
Vacation packages are valid for arrivals beginning January 1, 2021. The end date of your vacation must be on or before September 27, 2021. With Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary being October 1, 2021, Walt Disney World has decided to not allow bookings for those dates yet. Please note: Disney Vacation Club Resorts are typically available for bookings 11 months out (currently through May 2021).
Disney Park Reservations
Disney’s new Park Reservation System will continue in 2021. Booking a 2021 package does not guarantee theme park availability, and you will need make your park reservations for arrivals starting in 2021 as the phased reopening continues. You will be able to view park reservation availability on DisneyWorld.com prior to purchasing theme park tickets or booking a Walt Disney World package, and you should book your park reservations immediately after linking their 2021 vacation package in the My Disney Experience app.
Walt Disney World suggest the following strategy to making new reservations:
Check Park Availability -> Book Hotel & Ticket package -> Book Airfare -> Make Park reservations
Please note that with tickets, you currently are able to book park passes for only the days involved with your resorts stay. If you are staying 5 nights, you will be able to purchase up to 6-days of tickets.
Currently, Walt Disney World is allowing the inclusion of the Park Hopping, Water Park & Sports and the Park Hopper Plus Options on theme park tickets. Walt Disney World’s park reservation system is currently not set up to allow hopping, though it should be made available for 2021 due to hopping being sold.
Disney Dining Plans
Currently, Walt Disney World Dining Plans are unavailable to book. It is possible as we return to normal, the dining plans will be made available to add-on to existing 2021 packages.
MagicBands
Starting on January 1, 2021, Walt Disney World will no longer mail complimentary MagicBands to Walt Disney World Resort guests. MagicBands will be available to purchase at a discounted rate prior to your arrival. Guests who prefer not to purchase a discounted MagicBand will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or a Key to the World card (free once you arrive at Disney) during their visit. Walt Disney World will still offer MagicBands in retail locations and on shopDisney.com, and guests will be able to continue using the wearables throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
Overall, Walt Disney World has not changed anything from late 2020 bookings. They have basically made 2021 dates available to book today.
